Developed as a collaboration between early learning professionals and the University of Washington, the Coach and Educator Community Interface (CECI) is an online platform that powers professional development for early childhood educators. Coaches and educators use CECI to connect to a community of professionals, access evidence-based learning resources, and plan pathways for professional growth. With CECI, educators take charge of their learning and gain access to a community of colleagues united in supporting young children and families to reach their full potential. The platform offers customizable modules that fit any state early learning system priority and can be used to support virtual coaching efforts, quality initiatives that are present in every state, and workforce pathways. As the user base of Coaching Companion grows there is a need for refactoring the existing databases to support future scaling and streamlined reporting on user activities.

SSEC is working with a team at University of Washington’s Cultivate Learning to revamp these backend data structures. Through embedded conversations with project managers and developers at Cultivate Learning, SSEC will deliver a modernized stack for the CECI platform: one equipped to scale in size and capability as more and more educators avail of the tool.
