  • All UW DSSG programs take place at the University of Washington’s eScience Institute in Seattle WA, with our 2024 program dates running from June 10 – August 16, 2024.
  • UW DSSG has facilitated 33 projects with approximately 200 unique individuals since its inception, in areas diverse as AI governance, climate adaptation, disaster response, equitable access to education, fair legislative districting, and poverty reduction.
  • Project teams comprise highly capable Student Fellows from varied academic backgrounds, subject matter experts who serve as Project Leads, and academic Data Scientists. 
  • Student Fellows work together over 10 weeks during the summer to create reproducible workflows, reusable code, and scientific analyses that contribute to the ongoing, long-term work of our project leads.
