  • All UW DSSG programs take place at the University of Washington’s eScience Institute in Seattle WA, with our 2024 program dates running from June 10 – August 16, 2024.
  • UW DSSG has facilitated 29 projects (and counting!) since its inception, in areas diverse as AI governance, climate adaptation, disaster response, equitable access to education, fair legislative districting, and poverty reduction.
  • Project teams comprise highly capable Student Fellows from varied academic backgrounds, subject matter experts who serve as Project Leads, and academic Data Scientists. 
  • Student Fellows work together over 10 weeks during the summer to create reproducible workflows, reusable code, and scientific analyses that contribute to the ongoing, long-term work of our project leads.
