On January 17 – 18, leaders and innovators from academic and governmental backgrounds will gather at the MetroLab Workshop on Big Data and Human Services to discuss common challenges and propose collaborative, data-driven solutions to human service issues. The workshop, co-sponsored by the eScience Institute, Urban@UW, the MetroLab Network, the City of Seattle and others, will be held at Seattle City Hall.
Bill Howe, eScience associate director, and Thaisa Way, senior data science fellow, led the organization of this workshop, which features a list of distinguished attendees including Christine Gregoire, the 22nd governor of Washington, Joanne Harrell, UW Board of Regents, and Martin O’Malley, 61st Governor of Maryland and 47th Mayor of Baltimore.
