More than thirty eScience Institute staff, faculty, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students attended the 2016 Moore-Sloan Data Science Summit October 23 – 26. The summit, held in New Paltz and New York City, New York, brought together about 150 total participants to explore the fields of academic data science.

The event was hosted by the Data Science Environments Partnership and sponsored collaboratively by New York University’s Center for Data ScienceBerkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) and the eScience Institute.

Panel discussions, round-tables, lightning talks, demos and a poster session are just some of the activities attendees were invited to engage in. Topics included data visualization and analysis, software optimization, research and careers in data science, among many others.
