Advisor: Jevin West
Ryan McGee is a graduate student and Data Science IGERT fellow in the Biology Department at the University of Washington. He is investigating the role that information processing has in evolution at multiple scales using a combination of experimental, theoretical, and computational approaches.
He is interested in how evolution acts as an information-encoding process (e.g., how does selection encode information in the genome?) and how biological information processing networks (e.g., gene regulatory networks, neural networks) change over the course of evolution. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, sports, live music, and musical instruments.
