Biography
Joachim (Joe) Meyer is a graduate student at the University of Utah with a research focus on snow hydrology, snow modelling, remote sensing, and closing the gap between research and operations.
Joe is currently an affiliate Technical Specialist with the eScience Institute’s Hackweek program. He has a background in software development and would love to see more software development best practices, open-source software, and open-science principles being adapted throughout the research community.
Joe received a MS in Geography (2019) from the University of Utah and a Diploma in Information Systems (2004) from the University of Applied Sciences, Würzburg, Germany. He has worked as a Software Engineer since 2000 in Germany and the San Francisco Bay Area.
