I am a deep-vision scientist, mainly doing research at the intersection of deep learning, computer vision with astronomy, cosmology. Right now I am based at the University of Washington, acting as the AI lead of the LSST AP project, implementing AI-based transient hunting algorithms for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory. I am also the founder of the Raw Data Speaks, an initiative bringing together researchers from various disciplines with the aim of demystifying the universe with deep learning methods. Previously, I was a senior data scientist at the European Southern Observatory (ESO), as well as a doctoral researcher at University of Freiburg in Germany. I did my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Electrical Engineering at the Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, where I was born.
