Madeline Gordon is a Senior Software Engineer for the UW Scientific Software Engineering Center (SSEC) at the eScience Institute.
Prior to joining the SSEC in December 2024, Madeline’s engineering experience was primarily in the development and maintenance of high-availability cloud-based services. She worked for 6 years at Microsoft – most recently on their open-source cloud serverless compute offering, Azure Functions. Her work focused primarily on augmenting and maintaining its main runtime component and providing product support – through cross-component incident response, interacting with customers directly on Github, and internal process enhancements to decrease incidents proactively. She also has experience working full-stack on a much smaller cloud-based publisher/subscriber event-driven IaaS messaging service.
Madeline is thrilled to have the opportunity to apply her open-source industry experience toward contributions in scientific research, as well as toward the growing RSE community.
