Chris is a postdoctoral scholar in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. He works in Tim Althoff’s Behavioral Data Science Lab, where he studies how language models like ChatGPT help (or sometimes, hurt) human learning, communication, and other skills, specifically in the domain of civic discourse, mental health, and education. He earned his PhD in 2023 at Brigham Young University working under David Wingate in the Perception, Cognition, and Control Lab.
