Alex Douglass

Postdoctoral Scholar, Oceanography

Alex is a postdoctoral scholar in the School of Oceanography at the University of Washington. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. His graduate research focused on acoustic signal processing techniques for localizing sources in complex underwater environments. At the University of Washington, he is focusing on quanitying the effects of seabed and sub-seabed characteristics on short-range acoustic propagation by utilizing large-scale geoacoustic data sets.
