Research Goals
Vincent Roulet is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington working with the Algorithmic Foundations for Data Science Institute (ADSI) members Zaid Harchaoui, Dmitriy Drusvyatskiy, Maryam Fazel, Sham Kakade, and Yin Tat Lee. He received his Ph.D. from Ecole Normale Superieure Ulm (Paris, France) under the supervision of Alexandre d’Aspremont working in the Sierra team led by Francis Bach.
During his thesis, he worked on mathematical optimization approaches for data science problems with an underlying combinatorial structure. He is now working on dynamic optimization problems for data science. His research was presented at the Neural Information Processing Systems conference in 2017, 2018, at the International Conference on Machine Learning in 2019, at the Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing in 2019. His work was also published in Information and Inference: a journal of the IMA.
