ADSI Postdoctoral Fellow
Biography
Vincent Roulet is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington working with the Algorithmic Foundations for Data Science Institute (ADSI) members Zaid Harchaoui, Dmitriy Drusvyatskiy, Maryam Fazel, Sham Kakade, andYin Tat Lee. He received his Ph.D. from Ecole Normale Superieure Ulm (Paris, France) under the supervision of Alexandre d’Aspremont working in the Sierra team lead by Francis Bach.
During his thesis, he worked on mathematical optimization approaches for data science problems with an underlying combinatorial structure. He is now working on dynamic optimization problems for data science. His research was presented at the Neural Information Processing Systems conference in 2017 (Los Angeles, CA, USA) and the “Optimization and Statistical Learning” workshop (Les Houches, France).
