Program Manager
Biography
Jane is the Program Manager at the eScience Institute, for which she leads the organization and logistics of several of its informal education and outreach programs, including the Carpentries workshops, the UW Data Science Seminar series, and collaborative workshop events such as NeuroHackademy, GeoHackweek, OceanHackweek, and WaterHackweek. Throughout the year, she works closely with several different organizing teams of research and data scientists in planning and coordinating annual events that bring together researchers from all over the world and across disciplines. Additionally, through the institute’s offering of Hackweeks-as-a-Service, she has been heavily involved from beginning to end in hackweeks the eScience Institute has hosted for external NASA groups. She is dedicated to continually assessing and refining eScience programs to ensure a welcoming environment for all participants and organizers, both in-person and online.
Jane comes with a background in communications, facilitation, grants, and supporting academics. Prior to working at the eScience Institute, Jane worked in administration for the UW Libraries where she took on various roles in coordinating and marketing for the Health Sciences Library clinical and information management programs. She is a UW alum and enjoys city life and travel.
