Postdoctoral Scholar, UW Statistics

Website

Soumyakanti Pan is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Statistics, working with Dr. Tyler McCormick. Before UW, he obtained his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from UCLA, where he was advised by Dr. Sudipto Banerjee. His research focuses on Bayesian predictive modeling of large and complex spatial-temporal data, developing fast and reliable alternatives to traditional approaches. He is also interested in bridging the gap between statistical models and physical processes that are governed by underlying mechanistic dynamics. By combining classical Bayesian theory with modern computational tools, Pan aims to make rigorous uncertainty quantification practical and accessible for real-world data science applications.
