Kate Rich is the eScience Institute’s Communications Specialist responsible for maintaining the organization’s website, social media, and other digital communications channels. While directing eScience’s communications strategy, she writes about the latest research and news involving data science and AI in a weekly newsletter. She also produces creative content ranging from video series to annual report designs. Prior to joining the institute, she was a researcher studying the discourse surrounding artificial intelligence and a speechwriting consultant. During her time in academia and the collegiate speech and debate community, she won multiple national awards for her academic research and speechwriting. Kate received her PhD in Communication from the University of Washington with a certificate in Science, Technology, and Society Studies.
