The interactome is an interactive framework for simultaneous visualization of the dynamics and the structure of a neuronal system in real-time. The interactome combines graph visualization with simulation of neural dynamics and allows the user to apply stimuli to neurons of interest, change network connectivity configurations, and immediately examine network response to them.
We applied the interactome to the nervous system of Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) roundworm, and show that it is able to easily produce scenarios of neural dynamics related to locomotion stimuli.
