Biography
Reza’s passion lies at the intersection of neuropsychiatry, technology, and education. He is most interested in exploring digital biomarkers in neuropsychiatry and is a practicing neuropsychiatrist, health technology executive, and teacher.
When he is not teaching at UW, he is practicing neuropsychiatry at EvergreenHealth and Chief Medical Officer for BrainCheck where his research and development work focuses on improving cognitive testing and care for patients. He was previously Chief Medical Officer for NeuroLex Laboratories where he spent years advancing digital voice biomarkers in neuropsychiatry and continues this research through a number of academic collaborations. He draws on his experience as a computer and electrical engineer – developing imaging technology at Massachusetts General Hospital and an electronic health record for VecnaCares.
He holds a BS in electrical and computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MSE in biomedical and electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and an MD from University of Massachusetts Medical School. He has residency training in psychiatry from University of Washington’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department, and fellowship training in behavioral neurology and movement disorders from the Department of Neurology.
