Biography
Randy LeVeque is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington, Senior Data Science Fellow of the eScience Institute, member of the DSE Executive Committee, and a leader of the Working Group on Reproducibility and Open Science. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford in 1982 and develops software implementing finite volume methods and adaptive mesh refinement for wave propagation. Current research interests include the study of uncertainty quantification in relation to simulations, particularly probabilistic tsunami hazard assessment.
