Applications in Physical Sciences
I am a physical oceanographer, working in coastal and estuarine regions. My research group focuses on flow over rough topography, estuarine circulation theory, river plumes, and bio-physical interactions. Our mission is to advance fundamental understanding of estuarine and coastal physical oceanography, link patterns of circulation and mixing to biogeochemical processes, and communicate what we learn to people in a way that brings them a closer connection to the waters they live near.
We create realistic numerical simulations of the ocean circulation and biogeochemistry of coastal and estuarine waters. These are used in a variety of basic and applied studies, exploring climate change, ocean acidification, harmful algal blooms, river plume dynamics, and flow over rough topography.
