Jose Hernandez joined the eScience Institute as a data scientist in April 2018. Previously, Jose was a data scientist with the Center for Education Results, where he leveraged statistical and machine learning methods to explore education data. Jose earned his PhD at the University of Washington, with a focus in statistics and measurement.
His doctoral research focused on assessing causal inference methodology in the absence of randomization. Jose’s interests include the application of data science methods on sociological data, and building tools to facilitate that process.
