At the reproducibility and open science working group meeting this week, we will have a presentation by Bree Norlander, who is Research Scientist with theTechnology and Social Change (TASCHA) group at the University of Washington iSchool.
Title: Open and Adaptable Curricula
Description: The creation and use of Open Educational Resources (OER) is on the rise. While many people think of OER as open textbooks, open curricula are also gaining traction. Following in the footsteps of programs such as Software and Data Carpentry and Mozilla Learning Networks, I will discuss the work that is going into creating online, open, adaptable curricula for several researchers in the Technology and Social Change group at the UW iSchool. The presentation will focus on the process of deciding which platform to use for each curricula and the creation of each curriculum’s online presence.
