Please join us on May 27th, 2020, from 12:30-1:20 PM in Thompson Hall (THO) Room 317, for Alexes Harris’s lecture, “A Multi-State Study Using Multi-Methods: Making Sense of Justice Sentencing,” as part of the Jackson School of International Studies’ QUAL (Qualitative Multi-Method Research) Program.

Alexes Harris is the University of Washington Presidential Term Professor in the Sociology Department. Her research will outline a five-year study examining court sentencing of monetary sanctions including over 900 interviews and surveys, 1,600 hours of court observations, and individual court automated data.

QUAL is a UW-wide initiative launched in response to pressing demand for qualitative research design and methods in universities, the private sector, and government. QUAL’s goal is to promote teaching and research related to qualitative methodology, and to foster a professional community of qualitative multi-method researchers. More information on the QUAL Program can be found at https://jsis.washington.edu/programs/qual/.
