Mark Korver from Amazon Web Services (AWS) will give his “Share data, don’t copy!” seminar Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Studio. This talk will have a geospatial focus with broad applicability to data-intensive research on the public cloud in any domain.
Specifically Mark will demonstrate AWS Lambda (computing without a machine) to process geospatial data that is publicly available on AWS cloud storage. He will also highlight recent native integration at AWS of the Geospatial Data Abstraction Library for geographic information system (GIS) work.
This talk is a precursor to the next in our series of eScience-hosted Cloud 101 introductions. For more information see http://cloudmaven.org.
