Woosub Shin will give a talk titled “A Practical Introduction to Bayesian Regression Analysis.”
This seminar covers practical aspects of conducting Bayesian linear and logistic regressions. We
will first review Frequentist regressions, then compare them with the Bayesian approach to
understand how they differ in terms of making basic assumptions, fitting parameters,
interpreting results, and making predictions.
This seminar assumes little or no knowledge of Bayesian regression methods, but previous
experience in Frequentist regression analysis, Bayes theorem, and probability distributions will
be helpful. Examples and codes using Python Jupyter Notebook will be provided and attendees
are encouraged to participate with their laptops.

This event is open to the public.
